Butler Trust Award 2009/10
Our Family Support Worker, Kerry Knox, along with the staff at the Edinburgh Prison Visitors’ Centre, have recently received a Butler Trust Award for their work in supporting children and families of offenders in prison. The Butler Trust is an independent charity set up to celebrate, support and share good practice in UK correctional settings. It recognises outstanding dedication, skill and creativity on the part of those working in this setting across the UK.
Kerry contributed by working with families in the prison setting as well as with those in the wider community. Kerry also worked closely with the Development Worker at the Edinburgh Prison Visitors’ Centre and with the Scottish Prison Service to ensure that meaningful support is available for families.
Kerry will attend the award ceremony at St James’ Palace in March 2010 where she and the group will receive their award from HRH The Princess Royal.
Our congratulations to Kerry and all team at the Edinburgh Prison Visitors’ Centre!
